Vegetarian and vegan mains can replace any protein at no change to the package. Extra proteins, salads or desserts can be added to any package.

A buffet is chosen by the main and judged by everything around it: the sides, the bread, whether there was enough.

So we sell buffets as packages rather than a list of dishes. Each package fixes how many proteins, starches, salads and desserts go on the table, and the menu is built to it with you. A training room that breaks for forty minutes needs less than a year-end function that runs into the evening.

Everything is cooked in our Fairland kitchen, and we deliver across Sandton, Rosebank, Bryanston, Randburg, Fourways, Midrand, Woodmead and Sunninghill, with Pretoria and Centurion on request.

What goes into the packages

The proteins cover beef, chicken, fish and lamb, cooked as curries, stews, grills, bakes and roasts, with South African, Indian, Thai and Mediterranean dishes among them. The Executive package draws on premium cuts such as beef fillet, lamb and line fish.

Vegetarian and vegan guests get mains of their own rather than extra salad, and pork is available on request. Starches run from rice and mash to roast potatoes, pap and couscous.

We send the full menu with your quote, matched to the package and head count, and help you choose dishes that hold well for the way your event is served.

Delivered to the table, or cooked at your venue

Every buffet catering Johannesburg quote starts with one question: does the food arrive ready, or does a chef come with it? Every package works either way. What changes is the service.

Drop and go

Delivered ready to serve

We cook in our kitchen and deliver the buffet ready to set out. It suits offices, training rooms and venues where your own team will manage the table.

Chef service

Prepared on site

A chef finishes and plates the food at your venue. It suits functions, evening events and the Executive package, where the food should look as good at the last plate as the first.

Quoted separately, so you only pay for what you need: delivery, service staff, a manager for larger events, side plates and service items, and an on-site chef where required.

Which buffet package suits your event

The Light

A working lunch with a hard restart

A main and a salad does the job. People eat, and nobody is sluggish for the afternoon session.

The Standard

A full day of training or a conference

A second salad and bread turn a main into a meal that carries people through a long day.

The Full Table

A year-end, launch or celebration

Two proteins give the room a real choice, and dessert is what people remember walking out with.

The Executive

Clients, a board or a formal dinner

Premium cuts, more sides and two desserts, best served with a chef on site.

Vegetarian, vegan, Halaal-friendly and allergen requirements

Give us the numbers, not just the categories. Six vegetarians out of eighty is a side dish decision. Thirty out of eighty is a second main, and we would rather plan it than improvise on the day.

Vegetarian and vegan mains can replace any protein in a package, so a meat-free guest gets a real main rather than extra salad. We prepare Halaal-friendly menus on request using Halaal-sourced ingredients where specified. We are not a certified Halaal kitchen and cannot guarantee full separation of preparation areas, so tell us at enquiry stage if you need certified catering.

Allergies and intolerances must be sent in writing before a menu is confirmed. Our kitchen handles nuts, dairy, gluten, egg, soy, sesame, fish and shellfish daily, so we cannot offer an allergen-free environment — but we can prepare and pass affected dishes separately when we know in advance.

Buffet catering questions we get asked

Is there a minimum number of guests?

Most buffets start at ten guests. Below that, platters usually feed a small room better for the money.

How much food do you allow per person?

Between 250g and 500g per person for a meal, depending on the package and how long the event runs.

Can we see the menu before we book?

Yes. We send the full menu with your quote, matched to your package and head count, so you choose dishes knowing exactly what the package includes.

Are staff, plates and delivery included?

No. Delivery, service staff, a manager for larger events, side plates, service items and an on-site chef are quoted separately, so a drop-and-go office lunch does not carry the cost of a staffed function.

Do you serve pork?

Pork is available on request. Let us know early if any guests need a pork-free buffet, and we will build the package without it.

Can you arrange drinks as well?

For a function that needs a proper bar, our sister company Jozi Bars supplies mobile bars with bartenders, and we can coordinate the two.

How far in advance should we book?

A week is usually enough for office buffets. For weddings, year-end functions and anything with styling, two to four weeks, and earlier again for November and December.

Buffet catering Johannesburg: choosing a buffet catering company

Most buffet catering companies will send a menu. The better question is what happens between the kitchen and the last guest in the queue.

We have run corporate catering across Gauteng for over ten years from a kitchen in Fairland, catering office lunches, conference catering, year-end functions and weddings.

We quote the whole job, not just the food. Delivery, staff, service items and an on-site chef are itemised before you commit, and if a different package would feed your room better for the same money, we will say so.

We deliver buffet catering Johannesburg-wide — Sandton, Rosebank, Bryanston, Randburg, Fourways, Midrand, Woodmead, Sunninghill and Fairland — with Pretoria and Centurion on request.

Tell us the date, the head count and the occasion

Send those three things with the package you are leaning towards, and we will come back with the menu and a quote — usually the same working day.
